ARTISANS TOUR: BLENKO GLASS AND THE HUNTINGTON MUSEUM OF ART

Safety Notes for Blenko Glass: Groups must stand side-by-side for safety.

All participants must wear closed-toe, closed-heeled shoes (such as boots or sneakers). 

Participants will be provided with safety glasses, which must be worn for the duration of the tour. For the safety of guests these must be worn near molten glass and high temperatures, there are no exceptions to this policy.

MARSHALL FOOTBALL MEMORIAL PLANE CRASH TOUR

 

On Nov. 14, 1970, 75 people died in the worst sports-related air tragedy in U.S. history, when a Southern Airways DC-9 crashed into the hillside nearby. The victims included 36 Marshall University football players, 9 coaches and administrators, 25 fans, and an air crew of 5. No one survived this horrific disaster.

The Tour will Visit:

  • MU Plane Crash Site

  • Spring Hill Cemetery Memorial

  • Stadium Museum

  • Athletic Facilities

  • Memorial Fountain.

Andrew Brown, senior associate athletics director, will lead the tour.
