INTERACT WITH APPALACHIAN STUDIES FOLKS ONLINE ASA's website offers 3 new ways to interact with the larger appalachian studies community. The event calendar, discussion forums, and interactive newsletter offer a new way to become involved in appalachian studies. If you would like to moderate a discussion forum or need help with adminstration, click here. DISCUSSION FORUMS Our discussion forums, some moderated others open, initiate topic threads germane to the mission of ASA and then users take it from there.Visitors need simply to be curious and not afraid to voice an opinion. However, inappropriate language will get visitors permantly blocked from posting. The forums have extensive formatting & seaching capabilities, with the instructions found in the left-hand column. INTERACTIVE NEWSLETTER Our interactive newsletter augments our printed biannual newsletter. Between biannual printings, our News Manager will post an 'e-zine' here. We now have a quarterly newsletter! The newsletter homepage offers whole stories through headline links. After reading, users can post comments via the "Comments..." link under the headline.EVENT CALENDAR The event calendar is simple to navigate. One should click on a date to view the events planned for that day (note: days with events will have summaries in the calendar boxes). For Administrators Each interactive administration page requires a login to manage posts and other functions. Email the Web Committee for access acounts. Email the Web Manager for technical issues. Exisiting users should read the instructional information provided by each interactive feature's online help.
