We offer 3 ways to register:
Regardless of the method you use to register, please read the instructions and remember that all presenters must register.
REGULAR PRE-PAID REGISTRATION AT $95. includes a one-year ASA membership and subscription to the Journal of Appalachian Studies, two issues of Appalink, and participation in all conference activities. Late/on-site registration at the conference site at $100 includes all activities except meals. You must pre-register to qualify for meals served at the conference. Only pre-paid registrants may attend conference meals. STUDENT PRE-PAID REGISTRATION IS $40. Full-time high school or college students get all the above at a reduced rate. Student registration forms must be co-signed by an advisor or department head to verify "student" status. Late/on-site registration fee for students at $45 includes all activities except meals. SCHOLARSHIPS ASA Silent Auction funds help pay conference registration for a limited number of people with no affiliation with an academic institution or group that can help cover their expenses. For those who qualify, conference registration is reduced to $40, including meals served at the conference. Preference goes to session participants, people with the greatest travel distance, and program committee members, all of whom must meet the basic criteria of no source of institutional or organizational support. To apply, send a letter describing your community affiliation, the name of your session, and your mileage estimation. Send applications to Robert Gipe, (ASA Scholarship Committee Chair), P.O. Box 563, Cumberland, Kentucky, 40823. Deadline: Feb. 26, 2001. EXHIBITORS, VENDORS, AND GROUPS are invited to exhibit at ASA's Appalachian Gallery and Marketplace at the conference. Ride the Durbin and Greenbrier Salamader Express up the Shaver's Fork of the Cheat River. Vans leave Snowshoe Resort on Friday March 30 at 12:30 for a 1:00 pm trip and at 2:00 for a 2:30 pm trip. Pre-register at $25 per person. No need to pre-register for these activities: The Pocahontas County Convention and Visitors Bureau is your source for Pocahontas County adventures.
